THE SURROUDINGS

Ganzenvlucht is situated about 100 metres from the pleasant mainstreet  with a supermarket, terraces, pubs and restaurants. At the end of the street you find the Wadden dike and behind it the ever quiet shallows, which is populated by thousands of seabirds and migrants.

Near the lighthouse, only 2,5 kilometers away, you find miles and miles of North Sea beaches stretching before you and at a distance of 3,5 kilometers a nice family beach called “Paal 28”.  These beaches have ample room for parking.

In the beautiful surroundings of De Cocksdorp there are many walking and bicylce routes. Plenty of bicycles can be hired in the village. “Well-layed out and exciting”, is how connoisseurs describe the nine-holes golfcourse De Texelse which is at a distance of 0.5 kilometers only. Airport Texel for round-trips by plane and parachute jumps is 5 kilometers away. Nature reserves De Slufter and De Schorren are of the most outstanding beauty of Texel and both only 4 kilometers away.
